LATHAM- Lynford “Lyn” E. Heinze, 74, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Charles and Viona (Kimball) Heinze. He graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1965.He worked as a computer supervisor for NYS Teacher’s Retirement for more than 20 years retiring in 1996.He was a Baseball Umpire and member of the Capital District Umpires Association for over 30 years. He loved roller skating and big game hunting.He was a member of the Bethlehem Elks also an avid fan of college football.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bernice (Kilcher) Heinze; children Kathryn (David) Reagan- Hofheinz, Peter (Kim) Heinze, Deborah (Rich) Camarota, John (Amy) Heinze, Tammy (Keith) Neaton and David (Jen) Heinze; also 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Heinze and grandchildren Steven Stark and Joshua Reagan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 9:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Friday, December 5, 2014 from 4-8 pm. Entombment will follow the service in the mausoleum of St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
