SOUTH WESTERLO- On October 20, 2026 Jane passed away surrounded by her loving siblings. She leaves a large legacy of love, kindness and loving deeds. She was the daughter of Lillian M. and James J. Cunningham, Sr.
Jane was a devoted Champion of the Underdog. She went back to school at the age of 50 to become a nurse practitioner — a lifelong goal. She was a lifelong learner. She loved her time with her patients at Albany Medical Center in the ED and at St. Peter's Health Clinic as well as other facilities and was extremely dedicated to them. She spent her life taking care of others and did so much volunteer work for all species throughout her life. She loved her years of work in animal rescue and she loved all her pets, everyone else's pets and homeless animals. She deeply loved her siblings and was always thinking of them. She had a lot of love to give. She had a beautiful bright smile which she shared with everyone. She was a creative person who made the world more beautiful with her creations — always with a good cause in mind to raise funds and awareness. Jane valued her friends and their families. Jane was a strong willed person, determined and resilient. She faced her illness without a word of complaint and had that beautiful smile on her face till the very end. And even then she was thinking of her family and friends.
Jane is survived by her brothers James, J. Jr. (Regina) and Edward G. (Allison) and her sister Lynne who love and adore her and will miss her more than words can say. Everyone who knew her will miss her childlike, enthusiastic, exuberant smile and greeting.
In true fashion, always thinking of others, Jane did not want a wake, funeral or service because she did not want to inconvenience anyone, especially those who would have to travel. Instead, she asked that you spend time with your family or a friend.
