COHOES, NY-Barbara Christine Jensen, 49, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at home following a brief illness. Born in Waterloo, NY she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Joyce Lydia (Cobb) Jensen.

Barbara graduated from Waterloo High School in 1983, received a B.S. from Cornell University, College of Human Ecology, and earned an M.B.A. from International College while living in Florida. In 2004 she moved to Cohoes, NY, working as a Senior Personnel Examiner for the NYS Department of Civil Services.

Barbara was young at heart and loved to write, publishing books of whimsical and creative anecdotes from the perspective of a young adventuress. She also loved to laugh and make others happy, took great pleasure in holiday celebrations and giving gifts. She celebrated Christmas with family just prior to her passing. Barbara was an avid hockey fan.

Barbara is survived by a sister, Sandra Jensen (Kevin Myers); two brothers, Phillip (Connie) and Kevin (Sherry); nephews, Adam and Alex, along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by an infant sister, Jacqueline Elaine.

There will be no public calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
