He will be fondly remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, who shared in many wonderful family memories over the years.

John’s early education began at St. Joseph’s Academy in Albany. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964, where he excelled in his duties as a court stenographer, serving as Secretary and Administrative Specialist to the Brigadier General. This role came about when John, recognizing that his ability to type could set him apart, seized the opportunity to train as a court stenographer. His service took him across Europe, giving him countless experiences and stories that he enjoyed sharing throughout his life.

John began his professional career at Bankers Trust Company, where he met the love of his life, Kathleen. He went on to build a successful and rewarding career as a corporate bond trader. He was a partner at Albany Securities before joining Printon Kane & Co., and spent the majority of his career at First Albany Corporation. There, he served as one of the original four managing directors who launched the firm’s Capital Markets division. Drawing on his diverse life experiences, sharp instincts, and natural charm, John embraced the opportunities that came his way, leaving a lasting mark on the firm and he cherished the many lifelong friendships he formed there.

John’s greatest gift was his selfless devotion to his family, always placing their needs above his own. At the center of John’s life were his three daughters—his greatest joy, his deepest pride, and his lasting legacy of love. He delighted in watching his grandchildren grow, celebrating their achievements, and being a constant source of encouragement and pride. Known for his quick wit and warm presence, he had a remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter to every gathering. He enjoyed his many golf trips with close friends, relishing the camaraderie, friendly competition, and memories made both on and off the course. Guided by his deep faith, John always met life’s challenges with quiet strength and an unshakable trust in God’s love.
