WATERVLIET- Kristie Prokrym Johnson, 48, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Albany and a graduate of Bishop Maginn High School, she was the beloved daughter of Jeanette (George) Prokrym of Watervliet and the late Stanley S. Prokrym. Kristie was a graduate of Maria College and was a registered nurse with St. Peter’s Home Care and the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association. She enjoyed family vacations to Wildwood, Cape Cod and her camp at Diamond Point on Lake George. Kristie was an avid NY Yankees and Derek Jeter fan. She cherished her children and was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first grandchild this August.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Thomas J. Johnson; her children, Julia Ann Scarano (Jami June), Kristopher S. Scarano (Cassandra Setford) and Morgan Johnson; her former husband and the beloved father of her children, Steven Scarano; her brother-in-law John Scarano; siblings Joann Curry (James), Stephen Prokrym (Dina), Deborah Brown, and Regina Sahagian (David); her nieces and nephews Lehman Brown, Nicholas, Andrew, and Jonathan Curry, Jaime Prokrym and Jacqueline Minkler; Godsons Tyler Brown and Eric Sahagian; loyal canine companions, Syriana, Max and Yogi.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kristie’s family in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Those who wish may make memorial donations in Kristie’s name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Albany, NY 12204.
