Joyce D Grogan

GLENMONT- Joyce D. Grogan passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday September 16, 2026. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bertina Duval. Joyce graduated from Albany High School, The College of St. Rose and SUNY Albany. She was a school administrator with the Albany Public Schools in the area of Special education for over 25 years. She was an outstanding vocal music teacher at Albany High School and at the former Livingston Middle School. Upon her retirement, Joyce was administrator for the Ballston Spa and Saratoga School districts. She was also a piano teacher and offered private lessons at her home.
Joyce was a member of the City Club of Albany and a long time Communicant and active parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
She is survived by dear friends Cheryl, Erin, Michael, Liam, Peter-Daniel, Rose, Pat, Donna and Gabriel; devoted caretakers Gloria, Carol, Laila, MaryEllen, Cherelle and Julaine and her cousins Karen and Terry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 10 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Inurment will follow in the Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
