Kohinke, William E. Jr.

WESTERLO- William E. “Bill” Kohinke, Jr., 77, passed into Eternal Life Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at home. He was born in Albany to his beloved parents, the late William E. and Elizabeth (Mehleisen) Kohinke, Sr.. Bill was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School and was a member of the US Navy Reserves and the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit. He worked for the A & P Tea Company for many years and later retired from the Town of New Scotland. Bill always enjoyed sports and in his teens loved to play basketball in the Church League. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his dear sister, Elizabeth C. Haack and his brother Stanford W. Kohinke. Survivors include his beloved wife Carolyn (Snyder) Kohinke; his children William E. Kohinke III, Daniel R. (Donna) Kohinke and Jennifer R. (Otis) Helfrich ; grandchildren Secora and Katrina Kohinke, Dustin and Jessica Helfrich; his brother Robert F. (Bob) Kohinke.; his step-children, grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home after 9:30 a.m. Burial in the family plot at Holy Spirit Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont, NY
