Lamorella, Rose Marie

EAST BERNE-Rose Marie Lamorella passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospital.

A resident of East Berne, she was born and educated in New Castle, PA and was a graduate of Clarion College.

She earned an MS in Adult Education from City University of New York and was a long time educator for the Albany City School District at the Adult Learning Center. She was highly regarded for her work in developing the practice of Diagnostic Prescriptive Learning. She also worked to train educators in other programs throughout New York State in Employment Readiness and Workplace Literacy and in the New York State Prison System, Drug Treatment Facilities and Homeless Shelters.

She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Victoria (Lombardo) Lamorella and her sister, Josetta (Lamorella) Gressen. Survivors include her dear sister, Patricia Lamorella of New Castle, PA; brother-in-law, William Gressens III of Pittsburgh, PA; her loving Godchildren; many dear cousins and other relatives. Rose is also survived by many devoted and loving friends from many periods of her life and career.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville, NY 12186.
