Lanahan, Kathryn E.

SELKIRK- Kathryn E. Lanahan, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 08, 2022 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine Diehl.

Kathy was the office manager at Modern Press for 20 years.

After retirement, she was a longtime volunteer at St. James Food Pantry. Kathy was an avid gardener and a fantastic cook. She was skilled at knitting and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 58 years William Lanahan; her children Susan (Kevin) Egan and Michael (Shannan) Lanahan; grandchildren Patrick and Brendan Egan; Cate and Tommy Lanahan; her siblings William (Rosemary) Diehl, Susan (Brad) Peak; sister-in-law Maria Diehl; cousin Patricia Hynes and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Wallace Diehl.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 am in Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill. Masks are required for all services. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of NENY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
