GUIDERLAND CENTER- Johanna M. “Josie” Languish, 103, of the Guilderland Center Nursing Home, formerly of Albany and Glenmont, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Josie was born in Glenmont and was the daughter of the late Otto R. and Mary E. (Rock) Languish. She was a graduate of Albany Public School 17 and Albany Business College. She worked as a Journal Clerk for the former Delaware and Hudson Railroad for 46 years retiring in 1975. Josie enjoyed gardening and going to Foxwoods Casino and the Saratoga Flat Track. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit.
She is survived by her brother William E. Languish of Guilderland Center, formerly of Glenmont; her nephews, Edward O., Robert J., William and David N. Languish and niece Amy R. Languish. She was predeceased by her siblings Otto J., Ruth C. and Charles E. Languish and longtime close friend Edward E. Wagar.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Norman E. Dascher Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited any may also call at the funeral home Friday , February 28, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. Spring interment will be in St Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont.
