Lee, Joseph E.

COLONIE-Joseph E. Lee, 85, entered into eternal peace on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Brewer Alan Lee and Ella (Van Wormer) Lee. He attended Albany Public School # 20 in North Albany and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Lee was a truck driver for 25 years for W M Girvin Trucking. He later drove for Peerless Importers of Colonie until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Lee was a member of the American Legion.

Beloved husband of 59 years of the late Joan A. (Sanchez) Lee (2009); father of Christine (Robert) Saleh of Troy, Cynthia Lee Rekemeyer of Colonie and Joseph B. Lee of Guilderland; cherished grandfather of Robert Saleh of Colonie, Ryan Saleh of Albany, Rachel Lee and Justin Lee, both of Guilderland and the late Justin Lee Rekemeyer (1994) and Joseph HowardLee (1994); great-grandfather of Robert, Rebecca, James and Ryan Saleh; brother of Alfred Thomas Lee of Colonie, Brewer Francis Lee of Albany, Willard Van Lee of Colonie and the late Donald Alan Lee, Raymond Brewer Lee and Jacob Robert Lee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and longtime friends Bud and Joan Morrison of Colonie, Bob and Betty Sitterly of Albany, Kevin and Cathy Hunter of Loudonville, Ed and Joyce Olenski of Niverville and John Karney of Loudonville.

Funeral services 9:15 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 from the Norman E. Dascher Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany thence to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m.. Entombment will be beside his beloved wife Joan in the Briarwood Mausoleum in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. (Together Forever)
