Lois Hall (Lind), known affectionately as Gigi, went to her heavenly reward on July 31, 2026 in Albany, NY at the age of 96. Born on July 1, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Paul and Kathryn (Humphrey) Lind, Lois Hall was a matriarch in her own right, as she modeled a life well lived – in service to others, led with faith and love of God – to over 100 living descendants.
On Sept 9 1950, she married her beloved husband James J Hall Jr. with whom she shared 35 years until his death in 1985. After dedicating many years to raising her family, Lois embarked on a fulfilling career in the food service industry. Her work ethic and passion for life left a lasting impact on her friends and colleagues young and old.
A devout communicant of Historic St Mary’s, her faith played a significant role in her life. Her interests outside of work were rooted in her love for gardening and cooking. Taking up painting later in life she created beautiful land and seascapes.
Lois’s enormous loving family is truly her legacy. She is survived by her children, Shevaun Towers, Jamie Hall, James J Hall III (Debbie), Laurie Hall, Nancy Savoie (Paul), Paul Hall (Diane), Patrick Hall (Christine), Tara Daniels (John), Lawrence O’Toole Hall (Sherry), Maura Forney (Douglas), and Lois DeJohn (Victor); 40 grandchildren: 76 great-grandchildren: 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Geraldine Winkleman and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her daughter Jean McMillen, sister Joan Gilmore, brother Paul Lind, grandsons James J Hall IV and Shaine McMillen, and great grandson Eoin Towers.
The Hall family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the army of caregivers who brought immeasurable comfort to Lois and her family during her long illness.
A wake will be held on Thursday, August 6th, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 7th at 9:00 a.m., at Historic St. Mary’s Church 10 Lodge St, Albany. She will then be interred at St. John’s Cemetery in Queens NY.
