Lumbra, Michael J.

ALBANY-Michael J. Lumbra, 40, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 after a sudden illness. Born in Albany, he is the son of Michelle (Shelly) and the late Gaysford Lumbra; brother of Anthony (Tisha) Lumbra; husband of Lauren Lumbra; father of Mason Lumbra, Douglas and Andrew Fountain and Antonia Rea Lumbra; friend to Shannon Rea; as well as son-in-law of Marlene Ecuyler; uncle of Anthony Jr. and Roman Lumbra; nephew of Catherine (Danz) Dober. He is also survived by cousins, Dolores (Nikki, Chachi) Dober, Shannon (Richie) Chrysler, John and Joseph Dober, Cheyenne and Madison Duncan and several others. He also has extended family in Vermont and throughout the Capital District.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Frederick (Dolores) Danz and paternal grandparents, Richard (Helen) Lumbra.

Michael lived a simple life and touched the hearts of many, he has always been as he is now; a free spirit. He left this earth way too soon and will be missed by many. He was always the first one to crack a joke to make you smile and he loved his family fiercely. We are better for having had him as a part of our lives.
