ALBANY- Marjorie R. Laurent, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025 at the age of 96. Born on March 5, 1929, Marjorie lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her deep love for her family, her passion for the outdoors, and her joy in connecting with people from all walks of life.
Marjorie was the devoted wife of The Late René Laurent, with whom she shared many cherished years. She was predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Cerone, whose memory she held close to her heart. She is also predeceased by her parents Regis and Margaret Allen. Marjorie is survived by her loving daughters, Deborah Laurent and Renée Laurent, who will forever carry forward her warmth and wisdom. She also leaves behind three adoring grandchildren, Jared Suitto, Renée Suitto, and Whitney Crowningshield, and great-grandchild, Isabella Hall, who each treasure fond memories of their grandmother's laughter, encouragement, and unwavering support. Marjorie is also survived by her caring son-om-law, Joseph Cerone, and a beloved niece, Diane Morin.
Throughout her life, Marjorie embraced every opportunity to be active and engaged. She was an avid bowler, often participating in local leagues where found lasting friendships. Her love for the outdoors was evident in the way she appreciated nature's beauty, whether it was tending her flowers or camping with her family, or simply enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Marjorie thrived in the company of others, drawing people in with her warm smile and genuine interest in their lives.
Professionally, Marjorie dedicated many years of service to the NYS Attorney General's office, where her professionalism, diligence, and friendly nature earned her the respect of her colleagues. After her retirement she devoted more time to her family and her many interests, which ranged from social gatherings with friends to exploring new hobbies.
