Mcmahon, Daniel Patrick Jr.

DELMAR-Daniel Patrick McMahon, Jr., 68, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Middletown, NY he was the son of the late Dr. Daniel P. and Eileen C. (Post) McMahon, Sr. He was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. Dan retired from the Watervliet Arsenal after 25 years of service. He was a communicant of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, a member of the Nathanial Blanchard American Legion Post and a member for more than 30 years of the Elsmere Fire Department. Dan enjoyed spending time at the firehouse and target shooting. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda (Cagle) McMahon; a daughter, Shannon (Shawn) Smith of Schenectady; grandson, Landon Smith; nephews, Robert and Daniel Smith; nieces, Sara Young and Katie McKay. He was predeceased by his sister, Catherine Smith. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 17, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany and 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, 35 Adams Place, Delmar where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at 12 Noon on Monday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
