Molitor, Eugene J.

ALBANY- Eugene J. Molitor, 88, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at home. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Eugene and Carolyn (Griswold) Molitor. Gene was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He was a plumber with Union Local #7 and later with the City of Albany for 20 years.

Gene was a Communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi and a member of the Albany Yacht Club and the Fort Orange American Legion Post. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon.

He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Dunning) Molitor; his brothers, William, John and Michael; his sister Carol and his nephew, Billy. He is survived by his children, Eugene (Christine) Molitor and Kathleen (Pat) Purcell; his brother Edward Molitor; grandchildren, Matthew, Tracey, Shannon and Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Patrick, Lucas, Paige, Shea, Derrick, Ryder and Bridget; many beloved nieces and nephews and his good friend, Richie Neenan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 am in The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
