DELMAR-William J. Morin, 84, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Stratton VA Medical Center. Born and educated in Albany he was the son of the late Justin and Henrietta (Fortin) Morin. Mr. Morin was a Marine Corps. Veteran of the Korean War. He was a proud member of the exclusive Fraternity of Honor, “The Chosin Few”, Northeast, NY Chapter.

Mr. Morin was a carpenter for many years and retired in 1993 from the former Henry R. Rector Contractors. Mr. Morin was an avid golfer and outdoor sportsman. He loved bowling, gardening and taking care of his home.

Survivors include his devoted wife of nearly 63 years, Leona Mae “Lee” (Fondry) Morin; children Diane Morin Hechehouche (Yahia) of Ottawa, Ontario Canada, David W. Morin of Rochester, NY and Daniel R. Morin of Delmar; grandchildren Taralyn Giuffre (Michael), Ryan, Justin, Jacob and Shelby Morin; great-granddaugher Alexandra Giuffre; his sister Jeanne Calderone (late Charles), brothers John K. Morin (Mary), and Richard R. Morin (Luba); also many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. Entombment with military honors will be held Friday at 12:30 pm in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern NY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205 www.alz.org.
