Morocho, Martha P.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. - Martha Piedad Morocho, 37, a business owner and resident of St. Paul, returned to her heavenly home, Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Martha was born in Deleg, Ecuador on Sept. 5, 1978 to Alberto and Mercedes Morocho. She managed her own business, “Jennifer Regalos All Occasion” in Minneapolis, MN, creating beautiful centerpieces and various decorations for parties and special occasions. She also owned a catering business, creating authentic Ecuadorian dishes.

Martha was a hard working professional who deeply loved her family and community. She was friendly and sociable and donated much of her time to community events and to her Church, St. Cyril’s. Martha loved to spend time with her family, decorating her home and helping others with decorating and planning for various events. In her free time, she enjoyed soccer, fishing and shopping. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Survivors include her parents, Alberto and Mercedes Morocho of Albany; her husband, Carlos P. Avila; her children, Jasmine and Gabriela of Minneapolis, MN; maternal grandparents, Lorenzo and Rosa Coraizaca of Albany; paternal grandparents, Luis and Juana Morocho of Chicago, IL; siblings, Narsisa (Carlos) Caceres of Valley Stream, NY, Carlos (Angelese) Morocho of Albany, Luisa (Pedro) Quizhpe of Brooklyn, NY, Fredy (Tereza) Morocho of Albany, Esperanza Morocho of Albany, Humberto Morocho of Queens, NY, Fabian Morocho of Watervliet. Marcelo (Cecilia) Morocho of Albany and Celia Morocho of Albany; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her aunt, Eva Coraizaca and her brother-in-law, Manuel Jadan (Esperanza Morocho).

A wake will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 from 2 to 9 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany. Rev. James Clark will officiate. Burial will follow the Mass in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
