Mugrace, Maria C.

ALBANY- Maria C. (Rotiroti) Mugrace, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cardinale, Catanzaro, Italy, the daughter of Domenico and Giovanna Rosa Rotiroti,she emigrated to the US in 1960 and settled in Albany. Mrs. Mugrace was a devoted and self-sacrificing wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She never forgot her hometown in Italy and loved sharing experiences with her vivid imagination and creative gift of storytelling. She passed on the love of her culture to her family. We will greatly miss our mother.

She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Frank Mugrace. She is survived by her daughters Marina Mugrace (Brian Lee), Giovanna Mugrace (Timothy Taylor) and Francesca (Joseph) Aiello; her grandchildren Alessandra, Joseph III, Frankie Aiello and Elizabeth Taylor; her siblings Giovanni, Graziano and Lisetta Rotiroti; and her nephew Albert (Patti) Mugrace. She was predeceased by her brother Nicolino Rotiroti.

Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with her family Friday, August 19, 2016 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 9:45 am in St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd. Loudonville. Entombment will follow the Mass in the mausoleum of St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
