Mullen, Donald “Moon”

ALBANY-Donald Mullen, 76, passed away suddenly February 6, 2015 at his residence. A resident of Albany for over 50 years, Moon was born September 9th in Watertown, MA, the son of the late Thomas W. and Dorothy F. (Cronin) Mullen.

Moon was a much-loved husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed telling a great story, discussing current events, and sharing a drink with a friend. He loved all things New-England, especially his Red Sox.He thrived on others enjoying themselves and prided himself on helping and making others happy. He was a retired worker for Albany County and proudly served the USMC in his younger years.He was an active and long-time member of the Albany Elks B.P.O.E. #49 as well as the American Legion Bucci- McTague Post #1530

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, William and Arthur, and two infant sisters. Donald leaves behind his wife JoAnn, of 45 years, his two daughters Kelly Mullen (Thomas McCaffrey) of Albany, NY, Jennifer LaRock (Jeffrey) of Greenwich, NY, and his beloved granddaughter, Honora LaRock. He also leaves behind his brother Thomas W. Mullen of Massachusetts, his sister-in-law Beverly Mullen of New Hampshire, one niece, and five nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
