ALBANY- Margaret "Peggy" (Springer) Mulligan, 95, died February 17, 2017 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Cape May, NJ, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Stratton Springer, she was raised in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1939. Mrs. Mulligan was a bookkeeper with several companies including Hebrew National, Kramer and Son’s, DeNooyer Chevrolet and the NYS Council of Retail Merchants from where she retired in the 1980’s. She was a Charter member of the Sheehy Palmer Ladies Auxiliary #6776 and was active in many Veterans organizations. For many years, she enjoyed the Senior Aqua Aerobics program at the Albany JCC. Mrs. Mulligan was a longtime Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church (formerly St. James). Her greatest love and treasure was her family.
She was predeceased by her husband John J. Mulligan, Sr.; daughter Jacqueline Mulligan Douglas and grandson Ricky Douglas. Survivors include her children John (Kathleen) Mulligan and Derrleen (Ronald Rybicki) Mulligan; grandchildren Michael (Christine), Robert (Meaghan) and Gregory (Kara) Mulligan; great-grandchildren Aidan, Taylor, Connor, Eleanor, Mabel, Sean, and Morgan Mulligan and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb 23, 2017 at 9:45 am from the funeral home thence to St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10:30 am where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
