ALBANY- Charles H. “Chuck” Nattell, 70, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Bernard S. and Susan Burns Nattell.Charles was a graduate of Arroyo Grande High School in California, attended California Polytechnic Institute and was a graduate of Maria College and the NYS Empire State College. He worked for the NYS Division for Youth and was always dedicated to the youth he counseled and guided. It was more than a job to Charles.
Charles loved Pismo Beach, CA where he grew up and always returned to each year.He was a life-long NY Yankees Fan, a history buff and had an appreciation of historic houses. He particularly loved his own house in Nassau, in which he took great pride.
Charles is survived by his beloved son Whitney Nattell of Albany; his brother, Andrew Nattell of Albany; niece, Leah Palmer, nephew, Noah Nattell, and several cousins. He is also survived by Gina Duryea of Colorado. He will be greatly missed by his companion Veronica Lynch of Albany and his life-long friend and surfing pal, Peter (Shawnie) Troxell of Pismo Beach, CA.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Nathan Mitkoff for his many years of compassionate care and to his devoted care-giver Tiffany Vanalan. Also, we wish to extend our appreciation to St. Peter’s Hospice Inn for the peace and care provided to Charles during his last days.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
