Owens, Dorothy A.

ALBANY- Dorothy A. (Holtslag) Owens, age 93, passed away Thursday, August 6th at Good Samaritan Nursing home, with her family by her side. A lifelong resident of Albany's South End, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence (Klender) Holtslag. Dorothy was a production worker for the former Sterling Winthrop drug company for over 25 years, and a long time parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians. She enjoyed cooking for her family and watching the NY Yankees.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Frank H. Owens, and her sister Joan Andros. Survivors include her children; Frank T. Owens (Teresa Rogg), Cathleen Covey Owens, Steve Owens (Kate), John Owens (Nora), Nancy Briskie (Rob), Jeanne Owens and Joseph Owens; her sister, Florence “Sis” Holtslag; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Monday, August 10th at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Avenue, Albany. There will be no public calling hours.
