Pickands, Marcia L.

DELMAR- Marcia L. (Kellsey) Pickands passed away on January 4, 2016. She was born in San Antonio, TX in 1954. Later she moved to and grew up in Manchester, CT. Daughter of the late Dr. David and Miriam Kellsey. Marcia attended UCONN – Storrs and graduated with a degree in Psychology. She spent her professional life as a martial arts instructor, spiritual counselor, writer, and artist. She moved to the Albany area in 1978 where she remained for the rest of her life.

Marcia is survived by her many loving family members including: husband Martin Pickands; children, Sam, Alex, Tanith, Ember and their respective spouses; grandchildren Shelby, Nathan, James and Eliot; siblings, Diane and Bob; and her many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
