ALBANY-Mary T. (O’Connor) Probst, 95, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Eddy Memorial in Troy where she had happily resided for the past 6 years. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Salm) O’Connor. Mary was a graduate of the former St. Ann’s School and attended Mildred Elly. She was a homemaker. Mary was a parishioner of the former St. Ann’s Church and a parishioner and trustee of the former Our Lady Help of Christians Parish. She most recently was a Communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Mary was also an active volunteer. She served as a Eucharistic minister and was a food pantry helper at the Cathedral. She was also a member of the St. Joseph of Carondelet Associates. Her faith and commitment to the Catholic Church provided her with strength. Many people were very kind to Mary, especially during her later years. We thank Father Robert J. Hohenstein and Father William H. Pape for their many years of friendship and ministering to Mary. Special “thank you” to Dr. Robert Kelleher and his staff and the Eddy Memorial who were there for Mary during her time of need. The Eddy staff showered Mary with love, dignity and superb care. Never having had a driver’s license, Mary logged many miles walking throughout Albany. We are grateful to all who gave her a ride especially when she was walking or waiting at a bus stop.

She was wife of the late John C. Probst; mother of Mark (Lee) Probst of Colonie, John M. Probst of Albany, Martin T. (Rebecca) Probst of Wynantskill, Mary T.
