Ragotzkie, Helen S.

ALBANY- Helen S. Ragotzkie, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany, daughter of Carl and Adaline Vogelgesang Schulz, she graduated from the former Philip Schuyler High School.She worked for the NY Telephone Company and later with the Albany Public School system. She was a longtime member and active volunteer at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit and founding member of of the Mary Ruth Circle at the Church. She was also a member of AARP Albany Chapter. Mrs. Ragotzkie was an avid bowler and enjoyed long walks (4miles) with her daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Walter G. Ragotzkie, Jr.; children James Ragotzkie of Albany, Joy (Robert) Thibodeau of Florida and Jay (Judi) Ragotzkie of Guilderland; grandchildren, Aimee Harrison, Daniel Thibodeau, Brenden and Maggie Ragotzkie; and great-grandsons Tyler and Brayden Harrison.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Sunday October 5, 2014 from 3-6 pm. Interment will follow the service in Holy Spirit Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont .In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to Holy Spirit Memorial Fund, 57 Hurlbut St., Albany, NY 12209.
