Redmond, Joan T.

LOUDONVILLE – Joan Theresa Redmond, 92, ofAlbany, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023 with her husband Bill at her side. She was born in 1931, in Tannersville, New York, to the late James and Elizabeth Leach. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt and uncle Margaret and Frank Leach, and her sisters Hilda Leach, Catherine Leach, Mary Pillmore, and Betty Lindstrom.

Joan graduated from Academy of the Holy Names and Albany Business College. She worked for New York Telephone Company.

Joan shared 69 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband Bill, raising their children and cultivating a wide circle of friends. Joan loved sewing, quilting, family get togethers and traveling with Bill and their friends. Until very recently, they were able to enjoy weekly date nights, getting out to their favorite Albany restaurants.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband William E. Redmond Sr. and their children: Kathy Lombardi (Bob), Mary Redmond (Gary), Rosemary Redmond, and William Redmond Jr.. Joan will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Andrew Lombardi (Adrienne), Steve Lombardi (Jenny), Lizzi Wallace (Brian), Erin Vonderheide (Rudy), and Bryan Redmond (Alicia), as well as her six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces Mary Ellen Coffey and Peggy Bernard.

The family would like to express their gratitude to everyone at Right at Home, particularly Raquel, Tiffany, Mimi, Nancy and Maneesha, for their unwavering kindness and care over the past several years.

Joan Theresa Redmond will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her warm smile and loving nature, will forever be remembered.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 4 pm-6 pm at St Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Pius X Church, followed by burial at St Agnes Cemetery.
