Delmar - Frances Romanzo,89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Santo and Antonia (Galloni) Romanzo.She graduated from St. John's Academy in 1944, before becoming a Legal Secretary. Frances found herself breaking the mold of the '60's woman as she re-entered the workforce while raising her daughter on her own.She proved herself to be a strong, successful woman as she began a 30 year career as a Paralegal before retiring as an Office Manager for a Court Reporting agency in 1993. But more importantly, the personal side of her life was spent enjoying and sharing in the lives of her grandchildren.
She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Upon moving to Delmar, after her retirement, Frances volunteered her time to the students at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish assisting with 1st Communion classes.
She is survived by herDaughter, Marianne (Camponeschi) Ogren;Grandchildren, Stacey Sabiani, Kristofor (Staci) Ogren, Matthew (Desaree) Ogren, Amber (Tony) Gibson, Tessa Sedlar, and Schuyler Ogren; great-grandmother ("GiGi"); to Gavin, Killian, Milania, Vada, Nigeria, Jared and Shaun. She was predeceased by her brothers Nat, John, Henry, Edward and Samuel Romanzo; her sisters, Rose Hughes and Augusta Stewart. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Margaret Romanzo, Virginia Romanzo; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held privately.
Memorial contributions may be made to Food Allergy Research and Education, 515 Madison Ave., #1912, NY, NY 10022 in honor of her Great-Grandson, Killian.
