ALBANY- Mary R. Rowe (DiBacco), 94, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, leaving behind a legacy of family, love and generosity.

Mary was born in Canton, OH on March 25, 1922, the daughter of the late Massimino and Concetta D’Aescanio DiBacco. She was educated in the City School District of Albany and graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and Burroughs School of Business. She worked for the Borden Company for many years and for the New York State Thruway Authority until her retirement in 1990. Mary was most proud of her U.S. Navy military service during WWII as a Storekeeper 2nd Class.

Mary was the wife of the late David E. Rowe and was predeceased by her brother Salvatore and sister-in-law Clara, her brother Aldo, her sister Claire DiBacco and her great-granddaughter Hope Ann Kuftiak. She was the mother of Maureen D. (Thomas) Rizzi of Niskayuna, NY; Paula Mitchell of Atlantic Beach, NC; Bonny Julien-Curry of Watervliet, NY; David E. Rowe, Jr. (Jodi Rench) of Valdosta, GA; Patricia (Joseph) Bassler of Torrington, CT; Margaret (Marcellino) Basco of Albany, NY; and Matthew (Kristin) Rowe of Cary, NC.

Mary was the proud grandmother of Anthony (Shawna) Rizzi, Andrew (Heather) Rizzi, Jessica (Stephen) Kuftiak, Alison Thorne (David Gonzalez), Michael Curry, Katherine (Chris) Abbott, Rebecca Bassler, Brian Bassler, Christopher Basco, Samantha Rowe, Nickolas Rowe, and Delaney Rowe. She was great-grandmother to Griffin and Peyton Rizzi, Addison and Aidan Rizzi, Alexa Mooney, Ana and Xander Kuftiak, Maxim and Leonardo Gonzalez, and Avery Abbott. She is also survived by her loving niece Paulina (John) Cassidy and nephew Victor (Dorothy) DiBacco, several great-nieces and nephews and her dear friend Liz Kirby.

Visitation will be at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave. Albany on Saturday June 18, 2016 from 9-10:45 am. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. (Please have flowers delivered to church). Arrangements by Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc., Albany.
