RENSSELAER- Wandell "Claudette" (Goad) Scheu, 75, died Sunday November 15, 2015 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Gladys, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Edna (Hatchett) Goad. Wandell was a graduate of Albany Public Schools and worked for many years as a sales clerk at Montgomery Wards. She was a member of the Joseph Zaloga Post 1520, a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit and she enjoyed camping with her family.

Wife of the late Frank Scheu, Jr.; mother of Claudette (Tom) Mink of East Greenbush, Virginia (Russell) Starker of Utah, Christina Scheu of Rensselaer and Frank (Gretchen) Scheu of Latham; sister of Mary (Walter) Cross of East Greenbush and the late Edward, Vernon and Kenneth Goad; grandmother of David and Steven Mink, Krista (Bryce) Lakey, Nicolette (Tyvan) Albertson, Elisabeth and Hannah Scheu; great-grandmother of Colt, Kylie and Oaklee Albertson and the late Wyatt Van Albertson. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Carol Goad Youmans, Nancy Goad and Elizabeth Goad, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 at 12 noon in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with the family prior to the service from 10 am to 12 noon. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, (Alter Guild) 57 Hurlburt St., Albany, NY 12209.
