CHARLESTON, SC- Katrina (Veeder) Schulhof, 72, wife of Samuel Schulhof entered into eternal rest Monday, August 11, 2014.
Trina was born in Albany, NY, daughter of Harold G. Veeder and Alice Walker Veeder Gibson. She was a graduate of Albany Academy for Girls, Boston University College of Liberal Arts and was employed for many years in different capacities for the State Government of Massachusetts.Trina worked as a Legislative Liaison Officer for the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.She served as Executive Assistant to Elliott Richardson, Secretary of Commerce.Trina also served as Assistant President of the University of Pittsburgh and was the Executive Director of the Adoptive Family rights Council in Pittsburgh, PA. She volunteered in many fundraising efforts for non-profits as a Mentor in Middle School, as a Big Sister, and on the United Way Allocations Committee.In Charleston, SC, Trina enjoyed working as a Sales Associate for Polly’s Fine Jewelry.Since retirement, she was very active in the HOA at Harbor Creek on James Island, a beautiful place she championed and was happy to call home.She was the heartbeat of the HOA, and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Samuel Schulhof of James Island, SC; her step mother, Nan Briwa Veeder of Lake George, NY; her sister, Nancy Veeder of Boston, MA.; cousins, Charles Briwa of Albany and William Briwa of CA.; niece, Natalie Schulhof of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers-in-law, Dr. Jerry Schulhof and Dr. Paul Schulhof: and her special friend Pepper.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Vale Cemetery, 907 State St., Schenectady, NY 12307. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany, prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Helpers, 1430 Folly Rd., James Island, SC 29412.
