Smith, Robert G. Jr.

ALBANY-Robert G. Smith, Jr., 57, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 2, 2014. Born and educated in Albany he was the beloved son of Bertha (Salsburg) Smith and the late Robert G. Smith, Sr.. At the time of his passing he was employed by the Durham Bus Company and he had previously worked as a truck driver for Cris Coffee Service.

Robert was a member of the No. Bethlehem and Westmere Fire Departments, for many years. He was a collector of Star Trek memorabilia.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Aaron Smith of RI.; siblings, Wayne Smith and Maria Covington; aunts, Linda (Evan) Hendricks and Corliss Kaminski; his uncle Jerry (Georgette) Salsburg and his nephews, Josh, Wayne Jr. and Adam.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home. Visitation Friday, November 7, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Albany Rural Cemetery.
