Soloyna, George

ALBANY- George Soloyna, 86, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Community Hospice of Albany Memorial Hospital.Mr. Soloyna was born in Troy and was the son of the late Theodore and Mary (Gula) Soloyna.

He was a WWII Marine Corps. Veteran and a life member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 .Mr. Soloyna worked for Millbrook Bread for 25 years and later for NYS Bakery in Rotterdam retiring in the 1980’s.

He was husband of the late MaryRose (Nero) Soloyna; brother-in-law of the late Pam Nero; Father of George, Mark, Debbie, Kim, Michele, Donna (Paul) and Anthony; brother of Helen LeMay and the late Michael, John, Mary, Rose, Catherine, Ann and Sally; grandfather of Stacey Lynn Spagnola and Sarah Soloyna, He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to Nikki and Jeffrey who took such good care of George for many years.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2014 at 10 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 3-6 pm. Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
