Spoor, Walter A.

ALBANY- Walter A. Spoor, 85, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Kraft) Spoor. He was a graduate of the former Philip Schuyler High School and a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1988 after 36 years of service. Mr. Spoor was a member of the American Legion, North Albany Chapter and a Niagara Mohawk East Retiree.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elaine (Ludwig) Spoor; his daughter Karen Spoor of South Glens Falls; his brother Carl Spoor of Delmar; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Linda Kwong and his brothers Wesley, Joseph and John Spoor.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home. Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 4-7 pm. Interment will follow the service in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
