Springer, Helen A.

VOORHEESVILLE- Helen A. (Kleinke) Springer, 87, died Friday, June 03, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center. Born in Glenmont, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Ida Caroline (Burchard) Kleinke, Sr.. Mrs. Springer was a graduate of Bethlehem High School, she worked as a teachers aid for the Bethlehem School District and later at St. Matthew Lutheran School in Albany. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Home Bureau and a 4H Leader for many years.

She was wife of the late William A. Springer; mother of Cheryl (David) Appleby of Voorheesville, William (Valerie) Springer Jr. of Milford, DE, Karen Springer of Albany, Kenneth (June) Springer of Berne, John (Theresa) Springer of Voorheesville and the late Linda Leonard; mother-in-law of Keith Leonard of Clarksville; sister of Ethel (Ron) Whiteman, Peter( Linda) Kleinke, Paul (Ann) Kleinke all of Glenmont and the late Edward F. Kleinke Jr. and Dorothy (Bill) Krouse; sister-in-law of Jean Kleinke of Slingerlands; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandchildren Jaime Leonard, Kenneth E. Springer, Jr. and John Benjamin Springer. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 3-7 pm . Interment will follow the service in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
