ALBANY- Virginia Beulah Stewart 92, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Hudson Park Nursing Center. Born Virginia B. Irons on March 25, 1922 in Chicago, she grew up in the Englewood neighborhood. A graduate of Englewood High School, she worked for Western Electric and 30 years for Automatic Electric in North Lake, IL. She was a long time resident of Maywood, IL and of Albany, NY for the past 25 years.Virginia was the youngest and last surviving member of the late Edward Esme and Iola B.(Rudd) Irons of Chicago.She loved church as a young girl attending Hope Presbyterian Church on Chicago’s South Side.She married Myron Paul Stewart (aka Paul Myron Stewart) in 1947 and resided in Springfield, IL and later Decatur, IL.She later moved to the West Side of Chicago attending Central Presbyterian Church.The family moved to Maywood around 1960 where she became a Catholic and attended St. James Church of Maywood until her relocation to Albany to be near her son, Paul Michael (MaryLiz) and daughter Laura Virginia.While in Albany, she was a faithful attendant of St. Patrick’s Parish and its successor, Holy Family Parish.She was active in the choir. She is survived by her two children and four grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10am in Holy Family Parish, 279 Central Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. Interment will follow the Mass in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
