COHOES - The Reverend Susan Stewart, age 52, joyfully embraced her Lord and creator on February 27th 2014. Born in 1961 and raised in the Mid-Hudson valley region of New York, Susan’s formative years were spent developing a love of nature, animals, art and music. Susan is predeceased by her mother Margaret Mary, her father John Francis and her infant brother Stephen. Susan is survived by her most beloved brother John Stewart, incomparable sister-in- law Linda Stewart and godly young nephews, Evan and Stephen Stewart of Voorheesville as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins. Susan was blessed with many devoted friends and her warm heart and generous spirit allowed her to touch and inspire many lives. Despite her illness, Susan continued to follow her calling to the diaconate while simultaneously maintaining her professional career. After taking a year off from her studies, she re-entered the Deacon Formation Program in the Episcopal Diocese of Albany and was ordained to the diaconate by The Rt. Rev. William H. Love on June 2, 2012 at the Cathedral of All Saints. Deacon Susan was assigned to serve as the deacon at St. Matthew’s Church in Latham. Professionally, Susan received her Bachelor’s of Professional Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo and had a 30 year career in the design, construction and architectural field. She worked with Parsons Corporation of Pasadena CA, Einhorn Yaffee Prescott of Albany and most recently with the SUNY Construction Fund in Albany. Visiting hours will be Friday March 7th from 5pm to 7pm at the Cathedral of All Saints 62 Swan Street Albany NY 12110. Funeral services will be Saturday March 8th at 11am, also at the Cathedral. Flowers may be sent to the Cathedral and donations in memory of Susan may be made to Episcopal Diocese of Albany, Bishop’s Fund, 580 Burton Road, Greenwich, NY 12834.
