ALBANY-Josephine A. (Galasso) Strohmaier, 93, went to her eternal rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital.
She was born in Germantown, NY to the late John and Christina (Sola) Galasso. She is predeceased by her husband, Christian E. Strohmaier and two sisters, Mary O’Leary and Frances Clay.
Josephine was a lifelong Albany resident and retired from Key Bank after 30 years. She was a communicant of the former Holy Cross Church and most recently of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
She is survived by three daughters, Christine Coons, Karen O’Leary and Donna (Dave) Henline; three step-children, Linda (James) Redick, Shelley (Robert) DesForge and Chris (Anne) Strohmaier; 11 grandchildren, Jimmy (Sarah) Redick, Stacey (Steve) Agneta, Renee (Jeff) Gallagher, Eugene Coons, Jamie (Michael) Downs, Yulanda Coons, Justin (Algiene) Stoddard, Christian Strohmaier, IV, William Henline, Thomas Henline and Michael Strohmaier; as well as 15 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her ex-husband Eugene O'Leary.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Josephine’s family on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 900 Madison Ave., Albany. Her Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 10:30 a.m.
Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
