Tartaglia, Thomas P. Sr.

ALBANY-Thomas Patrick Tartaglia, Sr., 81, lifelong Albany resident died on Thursday, February 23, 2012 surrounded by his loving children; Jean (Francis) Ciani, Mary (Richard) Lombardo, Theresa Tartaglia and Thomas P. Tartaglia, Jr. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jean Ann (Owens) Tartaglia.

He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Nicholas Tartaglia, Jana Lauer, Michael (Debbie) Ciani, Theresa (Joey) Barbera, Katie (Kevin) Sheehan, Matthew Lombardo, Jim Maio and Jessica Tartaglia; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Tom is the cherished brother of Laura Fitzpatrick and Reverend Paul Tartaglia. He was the son of the late Paul and Victoria (Spinosa) Tartaglia and the brother of the late Kathryn Flanagan, Anthony Tartaglia and Betty Tarasovich. He was the brother-in-law of the late Joseph Fitzpatrick, Thomas Flanagan, Molly Tartaglia and Joseph Tarasovich.

Tom was a barber in Delmar for over 60 years, retiring in 1996. He had many loyal customers and devoted friends especially John and Adrienne Mateucci, Jim and Carol Miller and Maureen Tighe.

Tom was a loving husband, father and poppy. His affection and dedication to his family was first and foremost, and his love will live on in their hearts forever. His strong faith was an inspiration to all of us.

The Tartaglia family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s for their care.

Funeral services will be held 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany, thence to Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill, corner of Pine and Lodge Streets, Albany, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his brother Reverend Paul Tartaglia at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
