Taub, Michael J.

DELMAR – Michael J. Taub, 58, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 with his wife by his side. His long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease may have claimed his body, but did not take away the spirit in which he lived. Born in 1958 to Eleanor (Shayevitz) and Arthur Taub, Michael and his partner Frank Allen successfully ran and operated Allen and Taub Plumbing and Heating for 25 years. Michael was a hard-working, honest and kind individual. His customers always came first. Not only did he enjoy the work that he did, he found much joy in the conversations (and sometimes sweet treats) that followed. Michael found the most pleasure in spending time with his family and friends. Many years were spent proudly watching his oldest daughter pitch a softball game and his youngest grasp a ribbon in an equestrian event. He loved Sunday dinners, backyard barbecues, holidays, playing ball with his furry friend “Maicee” and most of all his time spent on Cape Cod.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Lisa Sottosanti Taub; his daughters Melissa and Kaitlin Taub; his parents Eleanor and Arthur Taub; his sister Nancy (Frank) Allen and brother-in-law Gary Sottosanti (Debbie). Michael is also survived by his nieces Erica Sottosanti, Meg (Dustin) Horan: his nephews, Gregory (Casey) Sottosanti, Stephen Allen: his great nephew Judah Buckley and his great nieces Lilly and Emma Sottosanti. Michael was blessed with many friends, but shared a special love for Jennifer Penton and her daughter Martha who he was proud to call family.

A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Albany Medical Center (D5North) and to Dr. Eric Mohol for the wonderful care given to Michael.

Friends and family are invited to visit Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 4-8 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. His Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:30 am in the funeral home.
