Theresa Marie Veronica Farrell Wahl, born on January 3, 1956 in Albany, NY, passed away at age 70 on Saturday August 1, 2026 in the comfort of her home.
The quick-witted student completed her master’s degree in Mathematics then went on to have several jobs leading to her last position at the Oncology Center at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany NY. Doctors, nurses, staff, and patients all appreciated her warm personality and kind spirit in a difficult setting. Theresa would later be a patient there herself, where she was treated like a queen.
Outside of work, Theresa enjoyed reading non-stop, watching Jeopardy, and most importantly, spending time with family. She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Amanda and granddaughters Tessa and Emma; and son, Dayne and his husband Derrick. Gammy relished her job as a grandmother and loved buying presents for Tessa and Emma. Theresa is also survived by her sister Shirley Farrell, sister Peg Sapel and her husband Bob, and honorary sister Carolyn Beeker. Her sisterly bond is an example of how siblings can be there for life’s difficulties and celebrations. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Dayne Wahl and his wife Lisa, sister-in-law Mary Jo Trombley and her husband Jerry, brother-in-law Thomas Glasgow and his wife Allison, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by honorary sister Vanessa Moulton, who made sure Theresa could spend her remaining days in the comfort of her own home. Theresa is now reunited with her sailor, the love of her life Mark Wahl whom she was married to for 45 years. She is also preceded in death by her parents James and Madeline Farrell.
There will be no calling hours. Entombment will be at a later date in the family columbarium at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
