ALBANY- Alice C. (Maksymik) Tibbitts, 85, went to meet the Lord and to be with her husband, surrounded by her family on Easter Sunday April 16, 2017. Born in Lancaster, NY she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hrycko) Maksymik. She was a graduate of Albany High School. Mrs. Tibbitts worked as an executive secretary at Protective Loan Corporation and later at the Teresian House. She was a longtime Communicant of the former Our Lady of Mercy Church. Along with her husband, she enjoyed winters in Winterhaven, Florida and attending Boston Red Sox spring training games. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her grandchildren; never missing any of their activities.
She was predeceased by her husband James J. Tibbitts and her brother John (Helen) Maksymik.She is survived by her four sons James (Janice) Tibbitts of Loudonville, Thomas (Sharon) Tibbitts of Clifton Park, Mark (Susan) Tibbitts of Niverville, and Bob (Dody) Tibbitts of Loudonville; her six grandchildren Kristen, Celia, Allison, Samantha, Michael and Thomas; three great-grandchildren Broderick, Hadley and Ryder; her brother Michael (Anne) Maksymik of Colonie; her brother-in-law Jack (Jo Ann) Tibbitts of Latham; sister-in-law Marcia (late Joseph) Stapleton of Loudonville, also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. Albany. At Alice’s request, there will be no public calling hours. Entombment will follow the Mass in the Mausoleum of St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
