MELBOURNE BEACH, FL.- Mary R. (Kendrick) Travis, 86, of Melbourne Beach, Florida and formerly of Guilderland, NY passed away peacefully on October 7, 2017 with her loving husband by her side after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William E. Travis Sr., loving sons William Jr. (Susan) and Joseph (Lisa); cherished grandchildren Alicia (Roger), Alexandra, Victoria, great-grand daughter Lorelei, brother Vincent Kendrick Sr. (Linda) and many loving brother and sisters in law and nieces and nephews.Mary was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Lydia (Rohloff) Kendrick, her sister Jeanne, and nephew Larry White.

Mary graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in Albany in 1948 where she met her future husband, William.They were high school sweethearts and shared 67 loving and joyful years together.Mary had a long career at Sears and Roebuck until her retirement in 1992.She will be remembered as a champion of the underprivileged, tireless volunteer for the cancer and heart associations, staunch supporter of the Democratic Party and devout member of the

Catholic Church.Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband and exploring Ireland, the Caribbean islands, New Orleans, California and Florida.She also enjoyed music, baking, doting on her grandchildren and spending time with her cherished family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family on Monday, October 16, 2017 in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany from 4 to 7 p.m. The evening will conclude with a prayer service with Reverend William Pape presiding at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, October 17, 2017 a funeral procession will form at the funeral home beginning at 9:15 a.m. and will travel to Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 2150 Central Ave., Schenectady for Mary’s committal service and entombment at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Mary’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.

the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
