Van Duyne, Maria S.

DELMAR- Maria (Sanchez) Van Duyne, 81, passed away after a short illness, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. She had lived in Hurley for 48 years before moving to Delmar four years ago.

Born in Suffern she was the daughter of the late Jose and Mary (Rehac) Sanchez. She retired in 2009 as a Secretary from the County of Ulster. Prior to that Mrs. Van Duyne had worked for IBM in Kingston.

She is survived by her children, Michele (Larry) Thomas of Cornelius, NC, Linda (Dan Ferguson) Van Duyne of Reading, MA, and Gloria (John Keeffe) Van Duyne of Delmar; her grandchildren Ethan, Joshua and Emily Ferguson all of Reading, MA, and John “Jack” Keeffe of Delmar; her siblings Carmen (late Peter Stroud) Sanchez of Princeton, NJ, Jose (Helen) Sanchez of Englewood, FL and Manuela Sanchez of Harlingen, TX.

Funeral services will be held privately.
