ALBANY – Paul C. Vanderwarker, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and family on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Born in Portland, Maine, he was the son of the late Richard and Helen (Clark) Vanderwarker. Paul was an Army Veteran of the Korean War having obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was a longtime auto body mechanic with Orange Motors in Albany and later chief claims adjuster with Property Damage Appraisers.
Paul enjoyed auto mechanics and as an accomplished carpenter and woodworker, he spent many hours refurbishing the interior of his home.
He is the devoted husband of 37 years of Mary (Wallingford) Vanderwarker; father of Richard (Joan) Vanderwarker of Latham and Steven (Susan) Vanderwarker of Altamont; step-father of Anne (Marisa Fiester) Conneally of Albany and Mary Pat (Dejan) Radeka of Middletown, RI; he is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Convent of Mercy Chapel, 634 New Scotland Ave., Albany. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
