Walter G. Ragotzkie Jr.

ALBANY- Walter G. Ragotzkie, Jr. 98, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday August 21, 2025. Born in Albany and graduated from Philip Schuyler High School he was the son of the late Walter G and Margaret (Konradt) Ragotzkie, Sr. Mr. Ragotzkie was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Company for 39 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Guttenburg #737 Masonic Lodge and Nite Owls, Inc.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Schulz) Ragotzkie. He is survived by his children James Ragotzkie, Joy ( the late Robert) Thibodeau and Jay (Judith) Ragotzkie; grandchildren Aimee Harrison, Daniel (Lindsey) Thibodeau, Brenden and Maggie Ragotzkie; great-grandchildren Tyler, Brayden, Channing and Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 27, 2025 at 12 noon in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with Walter's family prior to his service from 10 am 11:45 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Spirit Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont.
