White, Margaret R.

ALBANY- Margaret R. (Russell) White died Friday January 8, 2016 at the Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie.

Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Countryman) Russell. Mrs. White worked as a secretary for the Albany County Department of Aging and was a 60 year volunteer with the Salvation Army. She enjoyed reading and traveling.

Margaret is survived by her nieces Rosalyn (Thomas) Kowalski, Evelyn Kennedy; nephews Bryan (Patricia) Shields, Daniel Shields and Elliot F. Stiles; great-nieces Rosalyn (John) Santella, Lisa (Dave) Roy and Karen (Gary) Titherington.

She was predeceased by her husband Henry J. White, Jr.; sisters Dorothy Shields, Elizabeth Christians and Adelaide DelBalso her nieces Karen M. Stiles and Dorothy Kantorski and great-niece Kimberly Coonradt.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Burial will be Graceland Cemetery, Albany. Those who wish may send memorial contributions in Mrs. White’s name to the Salvation Army, 20 Ferry St., Albany, NY 12202.
