GLENMONT- Reverend Christine R. Wickman, 75, of Glenmont, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2014 after a brief, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Her family and her beloved dog, Toby were by her side. The daughter of the late Roger and Dorothea Ratcliffe Bacon, she was born April 5, 1939 in Wimbledon, England.Christine moved to the United States in the late 1970's while she was employed by IBM in Kingston, NY, where she met her husband of 35 years, Thomas J. Wickman who predeceased her in December, 2011.Reverend Christine was retired as a Deacon in the Episcopal Church, and most recently served at the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany.She is survived by her daughters Eva Eisenschimmel Soones (John) of Hampton, England, Caroline Wickman, of Glenmont, Teresa Stoklosa (Stanley) of Clifton Park, Mary Garrison (Christopher), of Rexford, and Lisa Manzer (Richard) of Colonie.She is also survived by her beloved Granddaughters, CarolAnne, Olivia, and Isabella.In addition, Christine is survived by her brother, Nigel, his wife Hilary, her nieces Sarah, Kate, Penelope, and nephew, Nicholas, as well as her dear friend and neighbor, Karen Roberts. Reverend Christine had a great love for the poor, the homeless, and those in need.She spent countless hours volunteering at the Capital City Rescue Mission and anywhere else that help was needed.She was dearly loved by her family and friends and neighbors in Glenmont.She will be greatly missed. There will be a service for Reverend Christine on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of All Saints, 62 South Swan Street, Albany, New York.In lieu of flowers, it would be greatly appreciated that donations be made in Christine's memory to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12202.
