ALBANY- Edward Wong, 88, died peacefully in his sleep at home Thursday, October 3, 2013. Edward was born in Albany in 1925 and attended Public School #15, William S. Hackett Junior High and graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in 1948. He served with the US Army, stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington during the Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged from the Army in March of 1950. Mr. Wong was in the apprentice program at Simmons Machine Tool Corporation becoming a machinist toolmaker where he worked for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Fong Wong and his siblings, Harold, Helen, Harriet and Stanley. He is survived by his sister, Lucy Wong; 8 nephews and 4 nieces.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home prior to the service from 9:30- 10:30 am. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
